The Flat Iron Gallery, located at 105 So. Division St., Peekskill, N.Y. will have a new solo art exhibit for Goldens Bridge artist, Mireille Duchesne, for the month of November.

The show is entitled, “Celebrating Life!” and it features new exquisite landscape and still life oil paintings and pastels, including new pastoral animal paintings. This is Duchesne’s third solo show at the Flat Iron Gallery. She teaches art at the Katonah Art Center and is a member of the Pastel Society of America, the Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Society, the Salmagundi Club, and the American Society of Traditional Artists. Duchesne has received numerous awards for her pastel as well as her oil paintings and has exhibited widely in the metropolitan area.
Duchesne was born in Normandy, France and studied at the Beaux Arts School. She also studied at the Arts Student League in Manhattan. Duchesne’s landscapes and still lifes are in private collections in the United States, Italy, France, and Japan.

“Celebrating Life” will be on display from Nov. 1st-25th,2012. An artist’s reception will be held Sunday, Nov. 4th, from 1-5 pm.

The Flat Iron Gallery has four exhibit rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floor of Peekskill’s historic “Flatiron Building” located in growing downtown art district. It will be celebrating its 16th anniversary this November and specializes in contemporary fine art and handcrafted jewelry.
