Community Corner
CROTON READS
CROTON FREE LIBRARY HAS TWO RELATED EVENTS COMING UP-
February 12 at 7 p.m. and March 9 at 2 p.m.
CROTON READS is an exciting new program to enrich the community’s love of reading. Think of it as a village-wide book club where friends, families, and neighbors share the experience of exploring a common book—and then get to meet the author.
READ THE BOOK
In Transatlantic, novelist Colum McCann delivers his most ambitious and beautiful novel yet, tying together a series of narratives that span 150 years and two continents in an outstanding act of literary bravura. Transatlantic is about crossings and steady stream of Irish, decade after decade, seeking a new life in America.
DISCUSS THE BOOK- Feb. 12 at 7 p.m.
Join us for a community book group discussion at the library on Wednesday, February 12, at 7:00 p.m., where we’ll be delving into the novel’s thought-provoking themes: Irish-American relations over the years, immigration.
MEET THE AUTHOR- March 9 at 2 p.m.
Colum McCann will visit the library on Sunday, March 9, at 2:00 p.m. Space is limited, so library district residents may pick up a maximum of two free tickets at the reference desk beginning February 8. Any remaining tickets will be available to non-residents on March 1. For more info, click on the link http://www.crotonfreelibrary.org/croton-reads/
