American Legion Post 274 Veteran's Day Ceremony

Veterans Day Services will be conducted at Memorial Park, Peekskill, NY, located at the intersection of North Division Street and Highland Avenue.  The ceremony will honor all surviving veterans and those serving in our military today. All citizens are urged to attend to show their gratitude for a country who has never lacked young men and women who were willing to place themselves in harm’s way.

Our first President George Washington said it so clearly when he spoke of the mettle of a country and the willingness of its citizens to serve in defense of country being dependent on the treatment of its veterans and families.

Our guest speaker will be Father Karl A. Lindblad. Father Lindblad was  commissioned Lt. Commander and served for 25 years with the Chaplain Corp of the United States Navy. Father Lindblad was the first Navy Chaplain on the scene
following the collapse of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, and
coordinated disaster relief with the New York City Office of Emergency  Management.  Father Lindblad is currently the Clinical Staff Chaplain at the Veterans Administration Hudson Valley Health Care Facility in Montrose, NY.
