In celebration of Dia: Beacon’s Community Free Day, nearly 800 visitors participated in a full day of special workshops, gallery talks, and tours of the artworks on view. Residents of Columbia, Dutchess, Greene, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster, and Westchester counties received free admission.
Beginning in January 2013, AT&T New York joined the Dyson Foundation as a supporter of Community Free Day at Dia: Beacon. Marissa Shorenstein, president of AT&T New York, said “AT&T is pleased to support Community Free Day in recognition of Dia’s important contributions to the Hudson Valley and to the entire state.”

Edward Bergstraesser, Director of Public Affairs for AT&T New York presented a check on behalf AT&T New York to Dia : Beacon during a Community Reception at Saturday’s Community Free Day. He was joined by Dia: Beacon Managing Director Susan Sayre Batton, New York State Senator Terry Gipson, and Beacon Mayor Randy Casale.
