Ball: No Announcement on Election Plans Until Spring

State Sen. Greg Ball (R, C, I —Patterson) will wait until work on the state budget is complete to discuss any plans to run for reelection, or another office, according to his spokesperson.

Justin Wagner announced last weekhis intent to challenge Ball for the New York Senate's 40th District seat. Wagner, a Democrat, lost by a narrow margin when he ran against Ball in 2012.

Joe Bachmeier, Ball's communication director, released the following statement:

"Senator Ball has delivered for every portion of this district and has a bipartisan record of impressive accomplishments, fighting for seniors, veterans, working families, small businesses and the less fortunate. While Wagner is free to declare his candidacy, as he unsuccessfully did before, the senator has a responsibility to continue his good work and will not make an announcement on his intention to seek re-election, or run for any office for that matter, until after work on the state budget is complete, sometime in the spring."

District 40 includes parts of Northern Westchester County, as well as portions of Putnam County and Dutchess County.
