WCC to Make an Announcement, Peekskill Students to Hold Art Show

Five thing you should know for today, Jan. 30.

1.) Westchester Community College for Digital Arts to Announce Partnership
Westchester Community College for Digital Arts in Peekskill is scheduled to announce a new initiative today. Stay tuned for more details.

2.) Students Art Show Scheduled at the Peekskill Coffee House
Peekskill students from the high school, middle school and Oakside Elementary School are having an opening reception for their art show at the Peekskill Coffee House on Monday, Feb. 4, from 6 p.m.  to 7 p.m. The show will be open through the month of February.

3.) Kindergarten Registration at Hen Hud Schools
Parents of incoming kindergarten students in the Hendrick Hudson school district must register at their home school between Jan. 21 and Sept. 5.  However, parents currently residing in the district are asked to register their child as soon as possible  and before Feb. 28 so that their  child can be screened and that there is correct placement and staffing for the coming school year.  Contact your home school for an appointment. Between Sept.  5 and Jan. 21, 2014 Registration will take place at Blue Mountain Middle School between Sept. 5 and Jan. 21, 2014 with Karina Galbo by appointment only.  To make an appointment call Galbo at 914-257-5721.  Children must be age 5 on or before Dec. 1, 2013 in order to register for Kindergarten for 2013-2014.  Registration forms can be found here.

4.) NY Firehouse Grille Recognized for Having Hudson Valley’s Hottest Wings
NY Firehouse Grille in Peekskill took home first place in the hottest wing category during Wing Bowl 6 earlier this month. Read about it here.

5.) Volunteer Appreciation Wednesdays at the Division Street Grill
The Division Street Grill, located on North Division Street in Peekskill, and Thyme, located on 3605 Crompond Rd. in Yorktown Heights, is offering volunteers 20 percent off of their food and soft drink dinner checks if they bring proof that they volunteer—anywhere.
