1.) Paramount Management Bidders to Present Proposals Tonight
The three groups attempting to manage the Paramount Center for the Arts in Peekskill will present their plans during tonight‘s Peekskill Common Council work session. The work session begins at 6:30 p.m. inside city hall, located on 840 Main Street.
2.) The Peekskill Planning Commission Meets Tonight
The Peekskill planning commission is scheduled to meet tonight at 7:30 p.m., inside the Common Council Chambers in city hall. The commission is reviewing Robert Joseph’s site plan to move Sav Mor Auto Parts to a new location on 1028 Main St.
3.) Volunteer Appreciation Wednesdays at the Division Street Grill
The Division Street Grill, located on North Division Street in Peekskill, and Thyme, located on 3605 Crompond Rd. in Yorktown Heights, is offering volunteers 20 percent off of their food and soft drink dinner checks if they bring proof that they volunteer—anywhere. 4.) “Words that Paint: The Hudson Valley School in Poetry and Prose
The Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art, located on 1701 Main St. in Peekskill, is hosting “Words that Paint: The Hudson River School in Poetry and Prose” Thursday at 2 p.m. The events is a collaborative art experience brought to you by HVCCA and Director Mara Mills. Writers from throughout the region were invited to visit the exhibition, and then submit short plays or poems inspired by works of art. The resulting works were juried and assembled into this theatrical performance.This is HVCCA’s fourth collaboration with Director Mara Mills following the successful “Size Matters: Image and Script” (2008), “The Form of Matter” (2009) and “The Ides of March” (2012). The event costs $12 for HVCCA members and $15 for general admission. The audience is limited to 25. Call 914-788-0100 or email kellis@hvcca.org to reserve a seat.
5.) Flash Mob to Hit Streets of Peekskill Thursday
On Thursday, at 4 pm at The Field Library’s Hayes Plaza (in front of the library) located at 4 Nelson Avenue in Peekskill, the community will join with women and men around the world forONE BILLION RISING, the largest day of action in the history of V-Day, the global movement to end violence against women and girls. For all of you in support of a Meth Clinic I spoke to 4 police officer and 2 State Troopers that all…Read More said not a good thing for any community. I wonder why?? to all the supporters. Look at that Renaissance Project in Ellenville Security Guard killed and nurse was almost stabbed to dealth with months of recovery in a hospital. Many said oh if it wasn't for a Meth Clinic I wouldn't have made it. Oh FYI many in treatment 10 plus years obviously it isn't working folks.
In defense of Mr. Catalina I guess we need to ask Mary Foster exactly how much this Article 78 cost in full and sure we will have our answer. Atty fees are astronomical if I knew we could beat this I would pay my fair share in taxes for the future of Peekskill. Unfotunately I don't believe everyone is willing to do that in these tough econonic times.

You know as well as everyone else he doesn't want it there to tarnish his newly renovated beautiful complex. Ask him how much he is making off his other services. 200 K in the business world is a drop in the bucket. I bet you $10 all those patients that said I am going to contact he didn't even do so.
So you are telling me this patients are law abiding citizens? Doubt it I know many people that have confided in me and said their sons, daughters, brother ,sisters have lied cheated stolen, and done time. Guess we will all see what happens in this community. Remember there are kids that will be walking to school. It is going to take one incident to wake up people.

This is a very comprehensive look at gun crime in the US- and it shows massive decline despite rising ownership. Deny all you want, because to continue your agenda, it's your only choice.

A recent study actually shows that the highest homicide rates are in the states with the fewest gun controls. States like Louisiana, South Carolina, Mississippi and Alaska just to name a few.
Sure, there are fewer homicides in Alaska than in New York, but adjusted for population, the per-ca-pita homicide rate is significantly lower in New York.
