New Year's Fun, Polar Plunge and State Farm Grand Opening in Peekskill

Five things you should know for today, Dec. 31.

1.) Make Last Minute Plans for New Years

2) Stay Safe on New Years!
Heading down to White Plains to celebrate New Years? Look for the “New Years Safe Ride” stand on the corner of East Post Road and Mamaroneck Avenue from 11:00 p.m. today to 3 a.m. Tuesday.  A dedicated fleet of 30 cars provided by On Time Transport will be available to transport persons 21 years and older to residential locations in Westchester County.

3.) Plungers Take to the Hudson River for a Good Cause
Join The Quiet Man Public House & the This Is Me Foundation for their first annual Polar Plunge on New Years Day. Participants will be taking sponsorships  to 'Plunge' into the Hudson on New Years Day with all proceeds going to scholarships for local students.  Interested in participating? 4.) Chamber to Start New Year with Networking Breakfast
The Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber of Commerce is hosting its first networking breakfast of the new year on Jan. 3 at the Harbor at Charles Point , located 5 John Walsh Blvd, Peekskill. Members from the Microsoft team will be on hand to demonstrate the Surface tablet; new Windows 8 software and phones; and answer questions about Windows Office 365. The event costs $15 with a paid reservation, $17 at the door and $20 for non-members. Click here to reserve a seat.

5.) Grand Opening Matt Spector State Farm Agency
Providing Insurance and Financial Services to the Peekskill and Cortlandt Manor communities, the Matt Spector State Farm Agency will open on January 3, 2013.
