New Hours at Woodside Elementary; Cortlandt In REM Sale Thurs.

Five things you need to know today, Aug. 8.

1. New Start Time at Woodside

Peekskill’s will hold new hours this year, 9:20 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Breakfast starts at 8:45 a.m. for both Kindergarten and 1st Grade

2. Welcome Janet Mason

A delayed welcome to one of our latest bloggers, a Mt. Airy Patch reader and author, Janet Mason, who recently held a reading at e. 3. In REM Property Sale for 28 Di Rubbo Drive

The Town of Cortlandt is holding an In REM property sale for 28 Di Rubbo Drive at Town Hall at 10 a.m. Thursday. Read more about the property . 

 4. “To Rome, With Love” at the

The Paramount is showing “To Rome With Love,” described as a kaleidoscopic comedy set in one of the world’s most enchanting cities,” on the Paramount’s website at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. The movie will also be playing on Aug. 16, Aug. 17, Aug. 18, Aug. 24, Aug. 25 at 7:30 p.m. each night.

5. Festa Italiana 2012 Kicks Off Friday

On Friday, the Opening Ceremony starts at 6 p.m.  and includes a Boy Scout Color Guard, American and Italian National Anthems, Father Higgins - Blessing, Mayor Foster - Greeting, Italian Consulate Greeting and the presentation of “DISTINGUISHED  CITIZEN" awards.

The Mass at The Assumption Church will be held on Sunday from at noon and will be followed by the Feast of the Assumption Procession at 1 p.m.
