1.) Peekskill Man Located After Reported Abduction
Peekskill resident Robert Jeter was located after he was reportedly abducted in the vicinity Jefferson Valley Mall. He was later located at his home with nonlifethreatening injuries. The incident remains under investigation.
2.) Last Day of Indian Point Hearings
The last of four hearings this week for the license renewal application of the Indian Point Energy Center in Buchanan take place today at 9 a.m. at the DoubleTree Hotel, at 455 South Broadway in Tarrytown. Hearings will start up again Oct. 22-24 and Dec. 10-14.
3.) Marcy B. Freedman’s Exhibition “FREE NOT FREE” Opens Today
Marcy B. Freedman will confront the issue of contemporary consumerism with an installation and a series of interactive performances at the Peekskill Center for the Digital Arts, located at 27 N. Division St. The opening reception takes place from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. today. The artist will give a gallery talk at 6:30 p.m.
4. Domestic Violence Awareness Candlelight Vigil
In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Temple Beth Am of Yorktown is hosting a Candlelight Vigil tonight at 6:30 p.m. at Town Hall. 5.) NY Firehouse Grille Hosts Grand Re-Opening Saturday
The NY Firehouse Grille is hosting a grand re-opening Saturday, Oct. 20 at 50 Welcher Ave in Peekskill. The ribbon cutting will take place at 12:30 p.m.and raffles, giveaways, specials, and more are on the agenda to officially welcome back old and new customers.
