1. Veterans Supporters “Carry the Load” Through Peekskill
A group organized by non-profit group “Carry the Load” will start a 1700-mile relay from West Point to Texas today. They will walk through Peekskill this afternoon to remind people of the importance of Memorial Day and to raise awareness for veterans organizations and military family support. Read more .
2. Happy May Day, Last (and Only) Chance to Celebrate
May Day is a tradition that dates back to ancient Rome and Greece, with roots in Celtic and Germanic festivals of old. 3. Poetry Slam at the Field Library
Tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. award-winning slam poet Roger Bonair-Agard will perform at the Gallery in the . He is a two-time National Poetry Slam Champion and veteran of HBO's Def Poetry Jam. Bonair-Agard is also the author of two books, artistic director and co-founder of the louderARTS Project, and poet in residence with VisionIntoArt, an interdisciplinary arts ensemble. Refreshments will be served.
