Jet Skiers, Boaters Gather for Seminar

New model personal watercraft on display.

Boating on the Hudson magazine hosted its inaugural Jet Ski, Boat and ATV Spectatcular Seminar at The Cove restaurant in Peekskill on Saturday.

Personal watercraft (PWC) enthusiasts from all over the Hudson Valley region attended to get a firsthand look at new products, meet and network with other owners, and ask questions of manufacturers, dealers and mechanics.

Lex Filipowski, vice president of Boating on the Hudson Media, said the event was also the kick-off for the New York Jet Ski Club, which hosts several "Fun-Runs" throughout the year. Groups of PWC owners gather for a ride on the Hudson River to different destinations to socialize and enjoy their hobby.

Several local marina owners, mechanics and dealers were on hand for the event.  For more information on the club visit: www.nyjetski.com

I sincerely want to thank everyone that attended and the patch for covering it.

It's great to see people enjoying the Hudson. I think it's underutilized right now — echoes of all that pollution, I suppose — but that's changing. I love getting out on the river on my paddleboard.
