Five things you need to know for the Martin Luther King Jr. weekend, Jan. 13-16.

1.     Martin Luther King Jr. Day

This Monday is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the celebration of Dr. King’s birthday (which is Jan. 15) and a time to recognize and reflect his work to end discrimination and fight for civil rights.

In honor of Dr. King, schools are closed Monday. It is a national holiday.
