3.HRHC Mural unveiling
At 9:30 a.m. the HRHC will unveil a mural created by AmeriCorps members. The AmeriCorps members worked on the project with local muralist Adele Kemp and artist Wilfredo Morel. Refreshments will be served after the unveiling.
4. Furnace Dock Lake Officially Saved
The Town of Cortlandt signed a contract with Con Edison yesterday, finalizing the deal for the town to(Rail Road Pond) for $300,000 from Con Ed. The 85 acres of land will become public property and the town will preserve the lake and watershed.
5. Peekskill City School District Seeks Volunteers for Financial Task Force
The district is seeking community members to join the financial task force in preparation for the formulation of the 2012-2013 school budget and a Five-Year Financial Forecasting Plan. The goal is to complete the plan by December 2011. The Board of
Education invites community volunteers with a financial background to forward a letter of interest and resume to the attention of Debra McLeod, District Clerk at dmcleod@peekskillcsd.org, by July 15, 2011.
