April Fools, Easter Egg Hunts (and Rain dates), Rain Expected

Five things you need to know today, March 30-April 1.

1. April Fools Day

Remember that April Fools Day is Sunday, so you might find a whoopee cushion on your chair, your kids might leave a frog in your purse, or you could be victim of a more clever and elaborate April Fools joke, so be prepared. Here are some good (harmless) ideas for the prankster inside of you. 

2. Easter Egg Hunts

Saturday: Buchanan Pavilion, 11 a.m.

Buchanan will hold its egg hunt on Saturday as planned, but if it rains it will be under the Pavilion.


Sunday: Hen Hud HS, 2 p.m.

3. Dance Theater of Harlem

The Paramount presents the Dance Theater of Harlem tonight at 8 p.m.

5. Weekend Weather

The National Weather Service forecasts rain for this weekend. Today should be cloudy with a high near 53 and rain likely after midnight with a low around 40. Saturday will have a high near 50 with rain likely before 1 p.m. and more rain at night. The sun should make an appearance on Sunday, which the NWS forecasts to be mostly sunny with a high near 61.

THE VERPLANCK EASTER EGG HUNT HAS BEEN CANCELED due to weather and scheduling conflicts, announced March 30 at 10 a.m. by the Verplanck Residents Association. You can still attend Buchanan's on Saturday at 11 a.m. or Hen Hud Lions on Sunday at 2 p.m.
