Local Youth join others in our community to help out in Breezy Point

Breezy Point still needs help. Please consider helping us! We will provide the bus transportation, equipment, and a meal..all you need is a big heart and willingness to help someone less fortunate.

On December 1st, 10 members of the Hendrick Hudson Leos club joined with members of the Hendrick Hudson Lions Club, and other members of the community and boarded a bus to Breezy Point to help those devastated by Hurricane Sandy.

Our Community, young and old, donated their time by tearing out sheet rock, ripping up floors, and shoveling out buckets and buckets of sand from someones basement.

The devastation was unbelievable...and there is still so much to do. As one volunteer from Habitat for Humanity said, "right now we have lots of volunteers, but as time goes by, people forget and there is still so much to do--please don't forget about these folks, and keep coming back".

These homeowners- young and old, were so grateful for our help. What we did in 5 hours, would have taken them days or in some cases, weeks.

Please consider spending some time to help others in need. Let's "Pay it forward" and show some holiday spirit!
