Shoppers get ready, get set...GO! The holiday season is here and it's time to start shopping.  So how can businesses make the most of the shopping season?

There are many ways to amp up your marketing without breaking the bank or your profit margin, here are a few of my top picks:

1. Take advantage of Small Business Saturday.
It’s not too late to post something on facebook , send an email or put up a sign in your window.

2. Offer gift certificates for your product/service & Gift Sets. Think about what the perfume & make up industry does this time of year. They bundle everything together and sell it as a gift set. See how you can do this with your product or services. Plus, it’s easy for the shopper and nice profits for you.

3. Holiday card
It’s an oldie but goodie. Take the extra time to send out a thank you to your customers for choosing you this year. Add in a coupon or a bonus for referring a friend to your product or services. It’s a nice reminder and customers like to feel appreciated.

4. Holiday Networking
Even if you hate networking, for one time in the year the holiday season events are usually the better ones. Get yourself out there and build some new relationships. People are usually more relaxed and having a good time and it’s a good way to soft sell your product/services. In addition, find out who is having an event and donate to their gift way items or if they are offering door prizes – you can offer a coupon or your product.

5. Communication
Get your contact and customer lists together and send out a newsletter or email with what is happening, what deals or specials are you offering? Are you having or supporting any events? Are you volunteering anywhere during the holidays?  In short, communicate to your customers so they think of your business while they are putting their shopping lists together.

Good luck and Happy Holidays!
