Bean Runner Cafe Review

Nestled in the hills of the beautiful Hudson Valley is a quaint little town called Peekskill, New York.  In this historic downtown area you will find a unique establishment called the Bean Runner Café.  The décor, atmosphere and music are reminiscent of the popular progressive coffee houses of the late fifties and early sixties that flourished throughout the United States.

Last weekend I had the occasion to visit this landmark, eat dinner and listen to the live music provided.  The food was out of this world, the music was fantastic and the atmosphere, to say the least, was very romantic.  My dinner included a gourmet style sandwich called the Pantheon Run, a few  glasses of Merlot wine and then topped off my night with a unique specialty espresso  made with Barbera Italian Coffee.

I was somewhat surprised as to the wide range of ages of the customers.  There were people in their early 20’s to, like some of my friends call me, in my twilight years, all enjoying the food, atmosphere and music.

This is definitely a place you do not want to miss but in order to not be disappointed, call ahead for reservations especially on Friday, Saturday and Sundays.  I enjoyed this place so much, that I returned for breakfast on the 4th of July before the parade passed down Division St.

This place definitely deserves a “Five Star” rating.
