What is Open and Closed on Memorial Day

You can't go to the bank or pay a parking ticket, but you can buy hot dogs and beer.

Monday, May 28, is Memorial Day.  Most federal, state and local government offices are closed. There will be no mail delivery. Many businesses are open.

  • Libraries: closed.
  • Local school districts: closed
  • Local garbage pickup will be on a Holiday week schedule.
  • Banks: closed
  • State courts: closed
  • New York Stock Exchange (NYSE): closed
  • U.S. Post Offices: closed
  • State government offices: closed
  • Local town offices: closed
  • Supermarkets: open
  • Liquor stores: open
