Massage Envy Holds Grand Opening

The new Rye Ridge Shopping Center spa cut the ribbon on Feb. 16.

Massave Envy has been open for a few months, but officially celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday, Feb. 16 after it was rescheduled due to the Feb. 8 blizzard, according to a Rye Ridge Shopping Center press release. Senator George Latimer and a Senator Greg Ball representative joined village officials and the Rye Brook Chamber of Commerce members to welcome the new spa.

To celebrate the grand opening, the store offered chair massages and facial evaluations from the lead massage therapist and esthetician.

Massage Envy spa offers a wide range of massages and facials and a membership plan for those who frequently pamper. They also offer a $59 introductory massage and a $69 introductory facial.

Massage Envy is a franchise with dozens of locations throughout the northeast.

Massage Envy is the pioneer of lowballing massage therapy and undercutting wages for massage therapists. Their business practices are horrible as well. There are hundreds of complaints against them for poor customer service. I do not know why the Patch continues to promote their businesses, perhaps Massage Envy is buying advertising space. Why the Patch continues to support these unetical corporations is beyond me. http://www.change.org/petitions/the-massage-franchise-increase-payrates-for-massage-therapists-decrease-lowballing-of-massage
