Although many women “never have anything to wear,” they do often have bags full of clothes, shoes, purses, accessories, "favorite" items that make come back into style some day, taking up storage space somewhere in their homes.
The Hudson Valley Chamber of Commerce is inviting women to a “Clothes Swap,” on June 13 at to help with that problem, and to help unwanted clothes find their way to the Jan Peek Shelter and Bargains Galore, where low-income shoppers can find quality clothing at discounted prices.
The HVGCC is asking women to donate gently used clothing, accessories, and shoes (women’s, men’s, children’s) to the by June 11. People have already donated a lot of good stuff. Check out the photos to get an idea of what you can find at the Swap Party.
During the clothing swap party on June 13, each attendee will pay $20 at the door and receive a 16wx19h shopping bag sponsored by (which will include a coupon for dry cleaning) to fill with whatever used items they can fit. One women’s old purse is another women’s favorite new accessory!
And while women dig through each others' outfits, they will also be able to enjoy a complimentary wine tasting, provided by and complimentary hors d’oeurves from The Cove. There will be music and a cash bar.
At the end of the night, no one has to take any unwanted clothes home. Clothes not swapped that night will be donated to the Jan Peek Shelter and (There will not be tax deductible receipts given at the clothe swap).
