Exploring Issues: What store do you want to see at the Cortlandt Town Center?

DSW is moving in. What do you want to see next door?

The DSW is moving into the next to Barnes and Noble. However, this still leaves one empty spot in that section of the Town Center. While there were rumors that a Gap would be moving in, the Cortlandt Town Planner Chris Kehoe says he is not sure that is the case anymore.

What would you like to see in that empty spot? Take our poll or tell us in the comments.

Wait! I thought of the perfect place! Chase! We need another one of those out here. Or how about a Quiznos, right in between Panera and Subway?? Lol. I really am stoked to see this area be rebuilt. I wish there was a little variety.

Here is the survey list: Banana Republic Bath and Body Works Chain restaurant Dollar Store Gap H & M Toys 'R Us Victoria's Secret Of that list, TRU is across the street from the mall. Banana Republic is not at the mall (but they are in Mt. Kisco).Bath & BodyWorks, Gap, H&M and Victoria's Secret are at the mall (plus at least one dollar store). That does not sound like "nothing", certainly looking at the survey choices. And you've got chain restaurants at the CTC.

Boston Market

Is that a new rumor about CTS? I've heard that one for a long time. I had hear that IHoP would go where CB was, but that is an old rumor. It seems like it's too big for a Pizza Hut.

Whole Foods would be great!
Lola K January 07, 2012 at 07:01 PM
Yes, Pizza Hut-Because there just aren't enough pizzarias around here...

we could use a good 99cent store or hair dresser or barber shop in the Peekskill area
Bill January 07, 2012 at 10:21 PM
Are you serious? There is one opening on Tuesday at the Cortlandt Town Center.
Ana Albrecht January 08, 2012 at 01:35 PM
There's no food at the mall. There's a Subway and Japanese and Chinese. I shop at the mall. I love it. But it's not Cortlandt Manor. Where we need stores and fun restaurants.
Ana Albrecht January 08, 2012 at 01:36 PM
There you go!! That's a yummy store!!
Bill January 08, 2012 at 03:01 PM
I think there are better food choices these days at the CTC than at the JV Mall, certainly with Five Guys opening! And Panera beats anything at the mall.

john January 09, 2012 at 06:59 PM
A large store like Viscount Wines & Liquors in Wappingers upstate. It would do very well.

Turns out you were correct, Pizza Hut is going into part of what was Charlie Browns. There will also be an ice cream place (or maybe yogurt?) and there is still 4500 square feet for what the landlord claimed was a major name, so I am guessing something like IHoP. Score one for Yorktown, but that parking lot is going to be terrible. I feel bad for the guy who owns the pizza place at the end of the shopping center right before where PH will be.Although I'd imagine his pizza will be better quality.

Linda Trader's Joe's or Whole Foods.
Mary H March 11, 2012 at 07:19 PM
Trader Joe's is my pick.
Bill March 11, 2012 at 07:23 PM
Costco is hopefully coming to Yorktown on Route 202 near the Taconic, unless the naysayers convince the Town Board not to approve it. Wegman's would take a miracle since they open where they want and there is nothing in NY south of Binghamton (or equally inconvenient). I think they have a store in Woodbridge NJ.

I am not as pessimistic about getting TJ's as I have been in the past. I spoke to a manager (captain) at one of their Westchester stores and got the impression that they are finally considering a store in the northern Westchester area. It won't happen right away, but it's at least on their radar. They recently opened in Albany, so they finally acknowledge that NYS exists north of Hartsdale.
Andrea Bloome March 11, 2012 at 09:42 PM
dollar stores are out!
Andrea Bloome March 11, 2012 at 09:49 PM
apparently we should contact trader joe's and tell them that their demographics are wrong!!! Would love to see that or a whole foods or mrs. greens!
Bill March 11, 2012 at 10:04 PM
Everyone wants a Trader Joes. Remember they are a nationwide chain and constantly opening new stores, but they can't expand that quickly. Before they recently opened in Albany, they had nothing even remotely close. We can at least drive to Hartsdale or Danbury (where I was today).
Bill March 11, 2012 at 10:05 PM
BTW, my wife asked at the Danbury DSW today and she was told that the Cortlandt Town Center location is opening at the end of April.
Yesenia Perez April 16, 2012 at 07:29 PM
Dsw is oping up on Friday April 20 2012
Yesenia Perez April 16, 2012 at 07:30 PM
I would love to see a Chucke e chesse in Cts some where there.
Bill April 19, 2012 at 12:00 AM
Where did you hear that? I emailed DSW and they told me they are opening next week.
