A silver-haired, middle-aged man wearing a red windbreaker looked towards the sky, smiled and raised his hands in triumph at the top of Bear Mountain last Thursday. But the production crew, camera and light reflector behind him made it clear he was not just another hiker, glad to have reached the top of the 1,200 foot mountain.
He was an actor posing for a photo shoot on a hot summer evening with a gorgeous sunset in front of him.
Juice Pharma Advertising and Trish South Management Productions were shooting an interactive and print advertisement for a large pharmaceutical company that they would not name. They scouted out Bear Mountain for the shoot and were pleased with the outcome and the beautiful weather this week.
“It was an excellent experience. The backdrops were beautiful and the staff was very accommodating,” Michael Kaminski, of Juice Pharma Advertising, said of the setting.
Kaminski would not reveal what the advertisement will promote.
The agency also shot camping scenes at Bear Mountain and a scene of a couple walking in the park at the Harriman Estate, Kaminski said.
The production group was heading to Barcelona, Spain next to shoot a similar ad targeted towards the audience there. The advertisement will be used world-wide, Kaminski said.
Kaminski did not give details of what the ad will look like, but if this pharmaceutical ad is anything like many others, the next time you find yourself staring at an actor enjoying a gorgeous natural setting while a voice over lists side effects and benefits of a new drug, look for Bear Mountain.
