Spring Maintenance Reminder

Safety reminders

Hey there Moms and Dads, here comes the warmer weather and those new drivers.  Just a friendly reminder spend time to go over vehicle safety with your child.  Now I know what you're thinking seat-belts, no texting, watch how many passengers are in your vehicle, but there is more to it than that. Teach your child how a car works, you don't just fill it, turn the key and go.

Check the oil from time to time. That is the heart and soul of a good running vehicle.  Teach your child to listen to their vehicle, yes it will make noise and lights do go on before there's an issue but don't wait till then.

Just like when you catch a cold you know its coming before you get sick. Tire pressure is a very important thing also. Did you know tires have what are called wear bars , those bars will tell you when you need tires. If you need to replace them ask your garage if they can align the vehicle and to check the front end. Proper tire wear helps for proper handling on the road.

And with the rising cost of fuel make sure you go over the purpose of a tune up. A properly running car will gain you better fuel mileage.  And for you car buffs you know that when you change certain items under the hood helps also. There is also the importance of shocks struts and brakes. Those abs systems do the work for you.

Explain to your young driver how it works. It does the work for you when used properly. Now before you trust those big box stores, find a place that does not have to worry about paying their teams on commission . Those places may sell you something you don't need. When in doubt don't be afraid to seek a second option on anything.
