Schools Open Drive carefully

     You all remember that old saying "schools open drive carefully" .  This does not just apply to school days , it should be every day.  We share the roadways with so many people we all need to be more alert to what is happening around us.

     A few simple reminders, make sure you yeild to all emergency vehicles , right down to those volunteers .  These are people that give their time to care for your safety .  Laws have recently been passed where you need to give law enforcement proper space on the roadways for good reason.Heck you might believe those STOP signs mean "Slow Tires On Pavement" but it doesn't. And those guys with those flashy blue or green lights turn them on just because , but they dont.

     Then theres those pesky yellow vehicles that travel the roadways in force ten months out of the year.  Did you know the people who work with these vehicles have to take a mandtory safety class every year ? There is a lot of training that goes into trasposting the most precious cargo we have . When you see those yellow lights , please yeild to them, and those red lights please stop . Younger children have been taught to pay attention to their bus drivers and monitors to make sure they safely cross the roads , its you job as a fellow motorist to help these people make this a safe partice for these children.

     Now this past weekend while taking a nice ride over the back road's of Garriosn , I get it you bike riders love your sport , but some of you are a little dangerous at taking the risk of not yielding to the motor vehicles on the same roadways, so please guys and gals be careful .  Of course theres also those bad guys and gals called "bikers" to , there are some of you that give that sport a bad name as well.  Dont ride up the middle of two lane's to cut people off , and please slow down on some of those turns .  And you folks suffering from the fast and the furious , theres a time and place for everything. Also rt6 because you're running late for the train is no reason to be doing 70mph just to get to the next red light.

     I know we see all those adds about texting and driving or talking on cell phones while driving , just give yourselves a little more time to travel.  There is a country song that says "makes me want to take a back road", we all need to find that back road somedays so that we dont find ourselves with a case of road rage.  We all have places to be and don't think that every driver on the road is skilled, allow yourself space and travel time .  I often hear if only there were a place where people could exercise their speed racer egos maybe there would be less issues on our road ways.

     But since there isnt one in this area , heck "schools open please drive carefully".
