When/Where: Peekskill Train Station, Saturday, Feb. 18, 11 am. To 1 p.m.
Why Go: President Abraham Lincoln’s only stop in Westchester County on his way to his inaugaration in Washington D.C. was in Peekskill. The Peekskill Lincoln Society celebrates Abraham Lincoln’s stop at the Peekskill Depot and his birthday, which passed this Feb. 12, with a parade and reenactment of the speech he made in 1861. A professional Lincoln impersonator plays the role well and hundreds gather for the occasion.

Why Go: For 37 consecutive years, The Royal Hanneford Circus has been entertaining generations of area families. The all-new 2012 show will feature international circus stars performing daring and exciting acts in and above three rings—including high flying daredevils, motorcycle thrill riders, elephants, tigers and more.
Price: Adults & Children, 2 years and over: $28.50 or $22.50, depending on the seat location
Winter Farm Tour at Stone Barns
When/Where: Saturdays and Sundays through March 18, 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture
Why Go: Get face-to-face with Stone Barns Center`s livestock in their winter shelters and learn about what’s growing in the four-season greenhouse and main production field. This tour will focus on winter growing techniques and how the animals are managed and vegetables are cultivated through the cold winter months.
Price: $10 for adults, $7 for children and youth (2 – 14)
Black History Month Interactive Read Aloud/Spike Lee’s Story Walk
When/Where: Sunday, Feb. 19, 1 p.m. at The White Plains Library
Why Go: Celebrate Black History Month by joining the library for an interactive reading of the book "This is the Dream" by Diane Z. Shore & Jessica Alexander and illustrated by James Ransome.
Be part of the experience as the story follows the students, passengers and leaders who stood up and spoke out against segregation in America. Refreshments to follow. Also, learn about heroes of our time who stood up for what they believed in as seen in the Story Walk which is based on the book "Giant Steps to Change the World" written by Spike Lee and Tonya Lewis Lee and illustrated by Sean Quall, on display until March 31.

Why Go: This is a show for audiences of all ages. It combines stunning acrobatics, striking visual effects, physical comedy and inventive choreography.

Sugaring Season Begins at Ward Pound Ridge
When/Where: Saturday, Feb 18, 11 a.m. at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation
Why Go: Kick off the sugaring season by helping Ward Pound Ridge staff tap the trees and learn where real maple syrup is made.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid Party
When/Where: Saturday, Feb.18, 2 p.m. at Ruth Keeler Memorial Library in North Salem
Why Go: If you have got a kid who loves Diary of a Wimpy Kid books, come to a celebration of the release of Cabin Fever (#6 in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series). Try to answer trivia, play games, and win prizes. Do you have what it takes to avoid the cheese touch?
Price: Free; no registration. Ages 8 and older.
Kids Farm Craft: Birds, Seeds and Feeders
When/Where: Saturday, Feb.18, 2 p.m. at Hilltop Hanover Farm
Why Go: Kids 4 years old and up can learn about native birds and the food they love. Children will also craft their own bird feeder to bring home.
Price: $5, all children must be accompanied by an adult.
Free Puppy Class in Cortlandt Manor
When/Where: Saturday, Feb. 18, 10-11 a.m. at Specialized Dog Training, LLC
Why Go: Bring your puppy for a free socialization and owner education class. Just bring proof of current vaccine history and proof of a negative stool exam (for parasites) and show up. This is an ongoing drop-in class.

Concert: “From Jazz to Soul”
When/Where: Saturday Feb. 18, 2 p.m. at the Greenburgh Public Library
Why Go: Enjoy a concert featuring a collection of jazz standards and soul classics from the 30s through the 60s that will spark memories and inspire across generations. Vocalist Rhonda Denét performs this 60-minute showcase of nonstop entertainment featuring songs made popular by great artists such as Ella Fitzgerald, Nancy Wilson, Etta James, Aretha Franklin, Gladys Knight and more.

Great Backyard Bird Count—Workshops for Families
When/Where: Saturday, Feb 18, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Westmoreland Sanctuary in Mount Kisco
Why Go: Celebrate the Great Backyard Bird Count with any of the following workshops:
10 a.m.: Decorate recycled Christmas trees with edible ornaments for the birds. 11 a.m.: Count feeder birds from the observation window to submit to the Great Backyard Bird Count. 12 noon: Build your birding IQ by learning tips and techniques for identifying common winter bird species, 1 p.m.: Take a winter bird walk with a naturalist and collect sightings to submit to the Great Backyard Bird Count
Price: Non-members: $5/person (includes access to all workshops). Participants must register by Feb 16th
