Tony Award Winning Say Goodnight Gracie at the Paramount

The Life, Laughter and Love of George Burns & Gracie Allen by Rupert Holmes will warm audiences' hearts at the Paramount Center for the Arts on Sunday.

Alan Safier will star in Say Goodnight Gracie, the hit Broadway play that brings to life the fascinating life story of George Burns, who spanned over 90 years of American entertainment history. Safier’s performance at the includes vintage photographs and video clips from film and television performances throughout Burns’ life.

Say Goodnight Gracie tells the story of a young man born on the Lower Easy Side of Manhattan and his search for stardom. He found his partner in a young beautiful dancer named Gracie Allen-a perfect match for Burns. Their marriage was lived on stage and on the radio. For 18 years the duo were radio’s comic relief couple, soothing the souls of the Depression and war-weary Americans.

Say Goodnight Gracie was Broadway’s third longest running solo performance show and was nominated for a 2003 Tony Award for BEST PLAY and won the 2003-04 National Broadway Theatre Award for BEST PLAY. The author of the play is composer and five-time Tony Award winner Rupert Holmes.
