[PHOTOS] Art Shows Open in Peekskill Saturday

The BeanRunner Cafe and the old Clemente's dry cleaners hosted art gallery openings Saturday.

There were two gallery receptions in Peekskill Saturday.

“The Ballot Box” opened at The BeanRunner and featured the work of 20 artists.

The artists, who were invited by Peekskill artist Carla Rae Johnson, created works inspired by this year’s presidential election. The exhibit will be on display at the BeanRunner until Nov. 25.

The Peekskill Arts Alliance also hosted the  opening day of its small works show Saturday at the old Clemente’s dry cleaners space, located at 910 Main Street.

The show, which runs until Nov. 18, features paintings, photography, sculptures, jewelry and performances.

On Nov. 17 Marcy B. Freedman will do her interactive performance "Good News, Bad News."

The show at the Bean Runner is terrific. These photos don't do it justice. Stop in for a few minutes. You won't be disappointed. Thank you Carla Rae for putting this fine show together.

Someone needs to finish the Main Street roadwork project and repave the road to get to downtown driving west after the completion of the Cortlandt Boulevard part . Isn't Route 6 important to America? Its been in bad shape for a long time.
