Visual, Performing and Healing Artists to Open Their Doors for Peekskill's 15th Open Studios

The celebration of the arts is June 2-3.

More than 100 painters, videographers, ceramic artists, photographers, sculptors, and mixed media artisans exhibiting at galleries and exhibit spaces will open their doors to the public for the 15th Annual Open Studios this June 2 and 3.

Visitors will be able to meet more than 60 artists, learn about their art and experience what Peekskill’s artist district has to offer.

In addition to visual arts, performing and healing arts will also be featured and there will be a crafts fair on Esther Street that will feature about 10 to 15 arts and crafts venders. Esther Street between Brown and South Streets will be closed from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. for the event.

The Energy Movement Center is thrilled to be part of Open Studios this year hosting the performing arts and healing arts venues. Healing arts is a way for people to heal themselves by invigorating the body and feeding the creative soul through modalities such as yoga, massage, Reiki, movement, dance, art and music, EMC owner Darby Melnick explains.

There will also be exhibits at the brown stone artist lofts, the Peekskill Coffee House, Westchester Community College, the Hat Factory and the Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Arts. The Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art is offering free weekend admission.
