OPL Summer Film Series – Books on Screen

The Ossining Public Library invites bookworms and cinephiles alike to enjoy a free night out (or four) at the movies as it presents Books on Screen, a series of four film adaptations of fiction and non-fiction stories. Books on Screen opens on July 6 with “True Grit” starring Jeff Bridges and Josh Brolin. The Oscar-nominated Coen Brothers drama is a reimagining of Charles Portis’ novel about a young woman who sets out to bring her father’s murderer to justice.

The series continues on July 27 with “127 Hours,” James Franco’s harrowing interpretation of Aron Ralston’s Between a Rock and Hard Place, a memoir chronicling Ralston’s struggle to survive after becoming trapped under a boulder  while canyoneering in Utah.
