Free Movie Night: "Smoke Signals"

Join Peekskill Presbyterian for the movie "Smoke Signals", Friday May 18 at 7:00 PM. The movie is free and the public is invited. Refreshments will be on sale to help support the church's Good News Ministry.

"Smoke Signals" is a humorous yet serious story about a young man who is trying to forgive his father. Young Indian man Thomas is a nerd on his reservation, wearing oversize glasses and telling stories no-one wants to hear. His parents died in a fire when he was an infant, and Thomas was saved by Arnold. Arnold soon left his family, and his tough son Victor, who hasn't seen his father for 10 years. When Victor hears Arnold has died, Thomas offers him funding for the trip to get Arnold's remains, but only if Thomas will also go with him. Thomas and Victor hit the road. The two are very different, and through their challenges on the road they learn from one another - about the world, about Victor's father, and most of all - about themselves.
