Andrew Lattimore Student exhibit

The works of 20 Hudson Valley artists, all students of painter Andrew Lattimore, are now on display at Hudson Valley Hospital Center in Cortlandt Manor.

The exhibit opened January 17 and will be on display through May 3 and features artists who studied the Atelier method of painting under Cornwall artist Andrew Lattimore.  Atelier is a method of fine art instruction which seeks to apply the classical techniques popular in 15th-19th century Europe to modern painting.

The paintings on display, including oils and pastels, feature still life art, landscapes and other natural settings. The exhibit is part of Hudson Valley Hospital Center’s “Art for Health” program, which features 12 art galleries throughout the hospital. Studies show that artwork has therapeutic benefits that help in the healing process. The Hospital has an Art Curator, Suzanne Ashley, on staff who works to continuously to acquire, update and maintain the pieces.
