Dog with Star Potential to Play Crab
The Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival has cast its canine performer for this summer's production of "Two Gentlemen of Verona."
The Hudson Valley Shakespeare Company put out a casting call in March for a dog that could stand up to the pressures of performance.
Namely, since the play is Two Gentlemen of Verona, the part consists of staying calm in a deadpan style while the humans around you are emoting all over the place.
The HVSF announced April 11 on its Facebook page that Rex O'Reilly has been cast as Crab.
"This was a very difficult choice as we had so many great pups audition at our K9 call but we can't wait to welcome Rex into the HVSH family!"
