Volunteers Honored, PHS Winter Concert, Xmas Party Scheduled Saturday

Five things you should know for today, Dec. 19.

1.) Peekskill High School Winter Concert Tonight

The newly restructured choral program at Peekskill High School will the join join jazz band for tonight’s winter concert at the high school auditorium. The program, which will include holiday hits like “Last Christmas,” “One Candle,” and “Joyful, Joyful,” begins at 7 p.m.

County Executive Robert P. Astorino will join the Westchester County Youth Bureau and Youth Board as they present the 2012 Rosemarie Siragusa Memorial Youth Service Award on Wednesday, Dec. 19 to John P. Hunt Jr. of Buchanan. The award is named after the founder of the county Youth Board, who also served as its first chair from 1975-1989. The award honors an outstanding individual who has demonstrated a commitment to serving youth and families.

The Paramount is opening their doors and lighting the Marque to celebrate the Holidays on Saturday Dec. 22,  at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.,  and on Sunday Dec. 23, at 6 pm to present “Yes, Virginia the Musical.” The show is being co- produced by Antonia Arts from Peekskill and Rising Stars from Yonkers.  Tickets cost  $22 for adults, $12 for  students/seniors $12. Paramount membership card holders pay $18 for adult tickets and $8 for seniors. Groups of 10 adults  pay $150  and  groups of 10 Seniors pay  $100. 4.) The Family Resource Center of Peekskil Hosts Annual Christmas Party Saturday

The Family Resource Center of Peekskill, Inc. and Community Sponsors would like to cordially invite persons in need to attend its Annual Xmas Party, aka "Share the Joy," by Students at Panas High School.  The part is scheduled for take at the Kiley Center, located on 709 Main Street, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.  Go here for more information.

5.) Volunteer Appreciation Wednesdays at the Division Street Grill
