People in Tuckahoe and the surrounding area will get together to help out with the Hurricane Sandy recovery efforts. A special fundraiser will be held at the Tuckahoe Community Center on Friday from 7:30 p.m. until 10 p.m.
The event is being sponsored by Westchester's Clean Plate Culinary. Here are the details:
Clean Plate Culinary is holding a fundraising holiday event on Friday, December 14, from 7:30 to 10 p.m. at the Tuckahoe Community Center. Part of the proceeds from this evening will support people in Queen’s Broad Channel who lost their homes during hurricane Sandy.
The event features music, healthy food and treats, door prizes, a special cooking demonstration and an array of health professionals sharing tips on staying healthy during the holidays and winter season. Admission is $40, and Clean Plate Culinary owner Natasha Bernardez says that funds raised will also sponsor a holiday meal for a family who lost everything in the hurricane.
“Our goal is to give back, as this year’s holidays will be filled with mixed emotions as we begin the process of rebuilding our communities,” says Bernardez. “We hope people will come out with their families and support this fundraiser or donate to a family in need.”
