Strawberries Sell Out at Van Cortlandtville Historical Society Fesitval

About fifty people showed up to enjoy the sweet seasonal treat.

From the Van Cortlandtville Historical Society: View photos above from the Strawberry Festival sponsored by The Van Cortlandtville Historical Society on Saturday, June 11, at The Little Red Schoolhouse in Cortlandt Manor.  The afternoon fundraising event was successful in raising funds for the various programs of the Society.  Approximately 50 adults and children stopped by the historic schoolhouse during the afternoon activities of history-question games, face and hand painting, and picture taking in the early 1800's schoolroom, according to Arlene Goodenough of Peekskill, secretary of the Society.

Assisting Goodenough in the sales of strawberries were Board Members Viola Baldwin-Gaines and Lenore Shanley of Cortlandt Manor, Anne de Neuville of Peekskill, and Treasurer Dan Bailey of Garrison. The freshly-picked berries from groves in the Marlboro area upstate and delivered via Curt's Homestead Market on Oregon Road were sold out by the end of the day.
