Step Right Up for the Peekskill Memorial Day Carnival

Fun, games, carnival rides and indulgent treats at Riverfront Green Park from Thursday to Monday.

kicks off its Carnival tomorrow at 5 p.m., an opportunity for friends and family to enjoy the weather, riverfront views and some fun and games.

The Carnival features rides for little kids, including a merry-go-round and dragon coaster. Fearless older children and adults can enjoy the Zipper, and grandma and grandpa can share a Ferris Wheel ride with the family.

The carnival also has a Haunted House, a Scrambler, a giant slide and other traditional rides, in addition to traditional carnival games and prizes.

And don’t forget the food! You can indulge on fried dough, Italian ice, pizza, Grecian delights, popcorn and other sweet, tasty, summer treats.

This is Peekskill Celebration’s second year hosting the carnival, with proceeds going towards the August 5-7 Peekskill Celebration and towards the Peekskill Lions club, which runs the ticket booth.

“Last year we had such a great response to the carnival” said Peekskill Celebration’s Cathy Montaldo. “The weather is coming around, the rides are up, the vendors will set up tomorrow and we’ll be ready to go.”

The American Legion will be collecting non-perishable food donations for the VA Food Pantry through the weekend. Also the Masonic Fraternity, Dunderberg Lodge 942, will be offering child ID kits on Saturday from 12-6 p.m.

Thursday: 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Friday: 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Saturday: 12 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Sunday: 12 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Monday: 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
