Peekskill-Cortlandt to See New Accumulation Tuesday Night, Wednesday

Our last snowstorm may have been just a day ago, but folks around Cortlandt, Peekskill and the surrounding area could see another three to five inches by Wednesday morning. And that's not the end of it.

The National Weather Service is calling for the snow to continue—and mix with freezing rain and sleet—during the day Wednesday. Another four to eight inches of snow and sleet are expected, and the high will be about 31-degrees.

The agency has issued a winter storm warning that is in effect from midnight to 6 p.m. Wednesday.

"A winter storm warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring," it warns. "Significant amounts of snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an emergency. If you must travel keep an extra flashlight, foot and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency."
