Peekskill St. Patrick's Celebration Begins Sunday

Grand Marshal Deborah Carlin Polhill will be installed during a special ceremony Sunday at Colonial Terrace.

The Peekskill St. Patrick's Committee is sponsoring a week-long celebration of St. Patrick, beginning Sunday, March 3, with the installation of Grand Marshal Deborah Carlin Polhill at ceremonies at Colonial Terrace, beginning at 6 p.m. Also being installed as Aides to the Grand Marshal are Joanne Connor, Thomas McCaffrey and Catherine Pisani.

On Friday, March 8, the committee will hold the Grand Marshal's tour, which features visits to many of Peekskill's most popular night spots.

On Saturday, March 9, the week concludes with the 24th Annual St. Patrick's Parade through the streets of downtown Peekskill. The parade will be preceded by an all-you-can eat brunch at the Peekskill Elks Lodge from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and a mass in honor of St. Patrick at the Assumption Church at 1:30 p.m.

The parade itself kicks off at approximately 3 p.m. at the Fire House on South Division Street, turns left onto First Street, then right onto Union Avenue, right again onto Central Ave., left onto North Division Street, then right onto Main St., right again onto James Street where it will pass the reviewing stand, then right onto Brown Street to the finish in front of the Peekskill Elks Lodge.
