Peekskill American Legion Post Sponsoring 5K Race

The American Legion Post 274 Commander John Nichols has written a letter to the community asking for help in supporting local heros in the military. Read Nichols' message below.

Dear Friend,

Your assistance is needed in supporting a very important fundraiser event for the brave men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces who have served our Country. The Peekskill American Legion Post 274 is hosting The 5K Run/ Walk For Heroes on June, 11th Steamfitters Local 21 building in Peekskill, NY. The address is 1024 McKinley Street Peekskill, NY 10566. After the run a BBQ will take place at The Peekskill American Legion Post 274down the street at 936 McKinley St Peekskill NY 10566.

We are asking for your support as a sponsor or donor to help raise the funds necessary to provide valuable programs and services to America’s Heroes. Operation Comfort Warriors is a program dedicated to meeting the needs of wounded military personnel, providing them with comfort items not usually supplied by the government. OCW ensures that patients at U.S. military hospitals and warrior transition units are given items like sweat suits, DVDs, puzzles, electronic devices, books, calling cards and more.

Several sponsorship levels are available. See below for some of the sponsorship details:

1. For $500 your company name or logo will be on the event T-shirt that will be handed out.

2. For $250 your company name or logo will be put on a banner at the BBQ.

3. For $100 you will receive a certificate of appreciation from the American Legion.

4. For $10 to $50 you will receive a certificate of appreciation from the American Legion.
