Lincoln Activities in February

For your convenience, a list of all the Lincoln festivities in Peekskill planned for February.

The City of Peekskill proudly celebrates former president Abraham Lincoln’s Feb. 12 birthday and 1861 visit to the city every year. To help you keep track of all the Lincoln events and exhibits this month, we have put it all right here in one list for your reference.  

What:

When: Feb. 7 – Feb. 28

Where: Peekskill Field Library

Details: The exhibit is titled Abraham Lincoln: A Man of His Time, A Man for All Times, and illustrates through letters and personal history how Lincoln still “speaks to Americans and to the world.”

What:

When: Feb. 9, 1 p.m.

Where: Lincoln Depot, Central Ave. and North Water St.

 

What:

When: Feb. 12, 2 p.m.

Where: Peekskill Museum, 124 Union Ave., Peekskill

Details: The exhibit focuses on the relationship between Peekskill politician William Nelson and Abraham Lincoln. It includes office materials, letters, paintings, prints, sculptures, artifacts, newspapers, sheet music, and more.

 

What:

When: Feb. 19, 6-11 p.m.

Where: Colonial Terrace, Cortlandt Manor

Details: “Black-tie invited” affair; Featured Speaker Dr. Eric Foner; Sponsored by the Lincoln Society

 

What:

When: Feb. 19, 11 a.m.

Where: Gather at 10:30 a.m. at the Metro-North station and parade over to the Lincoln Depot, the actual site of Lincoln’s 1861 speech on his way to his inauguration.
