Fur and Feathers at the Field Library

Teatown representatives brought furry and feathery friends to the Field Library this afternoon and thrilled a packed crowd.

Teatown Lake Reservation Animal Care Supervisor Erin Baker and volunteer Rebecca Donnelly brought several animals native to the Hudson Valley into the Field Library this afternoon and thrilled a crowd of more than 50 children and adults.

Baker and Donnelly presented an opossum, box turtle, black rat snake, red tail hawk, American kestrel, great horned owl and a Virgina opossum. They engaged the children, adults and members of the Senior Club who were present; participants eagerly asked questions. Some children shied away from the animals, while others held out their hands to touch.

(Audience members were aware that filming and photography was being performed during the presentation.)
