[Jan. 15, 2012 Peekskill] The 28th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. community worship service co-sponsored by the Peekskill Area Pastor’s Association (PAPA) and Mt Olivet Baptist Church, will be held at 3 pm on Monday, January 16 at the Peekskill Middle School Auditorium.
The inspired theme , “Reviving the Spirit, Restoring the Dream” is an invitation to celebrate and reflect on the life and legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.” This gathering pays homage to the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.” Rev. Lacey remarks, “Dr. King is remembered not only as a courageous civil rights pioneer, a Noble Peace Prize recipient and visionary icon, but above all, he was an acclaimed Baptist preacher who preached the Word of God.
The Interfaith worship service feature various spiritual dance and musical offerings including the MOBC Dance Ministry and stirring selections from the PAPA Interfaith Adult Choir and the MLK Youth Choir in honor of Dr. King memory. The keynote speaker is the Rev. Dr. Adolphus C. Lacey, Senior Pastor of the Mt Olivet Baptist Church.
