The day belongs to Jessie Ward.
Ward, who turned 104 in October, was issued a special proclamation by Westchester County Executive Robert Astorino earlier today at the Drum Hill Senior Community in Peekskill. Ward, a native of England, lived in Putnam Valley before moving to Drum Hill, located at 90 Ringgold Street.
"When you're on line for food later, you can show this and you can cut the line," Astorino said as he handed Ward the proclamation.
"I will," Ward said.
Astorino also toured the facility and spoke to its residents about his plans for the coming year.
