MOMS DEMAND ACTION FOR GUN SENSE IN AMERICA LOCAL CHAPTER HOSTS TWO FREE MOVIE SCREENINGS OF LIVING FOR 32

Cold Spring, NY; May 16, 2013 The NY-Hudson Valley chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America will be hosting two free movie screenings of Living for 32, a film about the 32 murdered in the tragic Virginia Tech shooting six years ago, and the 32 people killed by guns every day in America. The acclaimed documentary Living for 32 recounts the tragedy at Virginia Tech and survivor Colin Goddard's inspiring journey to becoming a leading advocate for sensible gun reform. “This film is possibly even more powerful after the shameful Senate vote in April that killed the expanded background check bill,” notes Gina Daschbach of Moms Demand Action – Hudson Valley Chapter. “You’ll see Colin Goddard on hidden camera, attend gun shows and buy many guns with no more than a wad of cash and a poorly photocopied drivers license. Over 40% of guns in America are purchased without background checks, through gun shows, private sales and on the internet. Our laws must change.” The screenings will take place on Sunday, June 9, 2013 at 7:00pm at the Depot Theatre in Garrison, NY and on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at 7:00pm in the Community Room at the The Nyack Library, 59 South Broadway, Nyack, NY. A moderated discussion will follow both screenings of the 45-minute film. The screenings are free and open to the public. Seating is limited, reservations are recommended by emailing: nyhudson.gd@momsdemandaction.org. This program is neither sponsored by nor affiliated with The Nyack Library or The Depot Theatre.
