Grand Prix New York and SurvivetheDrive have come together again to ensure that teens everywhere are making smart decisions behind the wheel. The Mount Kisco raceway first partnered with SurvivetheDrive® in 2011 to spread a message of safety to teenage drivers. In early November, GPNY sponsored 4 Health classes for 100 students at Walter Panas High School in Cortland Manor, NY.
Green, President and trainer of SurvivetheDrive®, presented students with the
reality and responsibility of operating a car. “Few folks recognize that car
crashes are the leading cause of traumatic violence, injury and fatality, in
our communities and the world. The human toll exceeds the expense” said Green,
“No one thinks it will be their own error, whether wrongful, unintentional or
inadvertent. The kids are the most vulnerable to make these mistakes, the car
can’t crash itself.”
Well known for his passionate presentations, Mr. Green shared his extensive knowledge on how important it is to master safe driving at an early age. “We provide, for them, an hour of extra attention, some extra effort to prevent these tragedies.” Said Green. Through the use of PowerPoint slide shows, personal narratives and graphic demonstrations Mr. Green has been able to teach thousands of students about safe driving.
“Grand Prix New York is proud to be a part of something that inspires safe driving in young adults.” Said GPNY Vice President Nat Mundy. “SurvivetheDrive is doing something phenomenal for teens, and we are honored to be a part of it.”

SurvivetheDrive® is an independent not-for-profit, educational organization educating drivers of all ages, particularly vulnerable and inexperienced teenage drivers, about the often hideous and everlasting results of inattentive driving. SurvivetheDrive® motivates and informs teenage drivers, through comprehensive presentations, to understand their own vulnerability and imprint safe driving attitudes, behaviors and techniques. Their goal is to save lives and make communities safer environments in which to live and work. Visit www.survivethedrive.org for more information.
