With Thai pork lettuce wraps as an appetizer and Korean braised beef short ribs served as an entrée, diners might have thought they were at an upscale Asian fusion restaurant.
In fact, they were having lunch at the Educated Palate, the restaurant run by Hospitality students at The Tech Center at Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES.
“We’ve been getting a great turnout, and today we have more people than we even expected,” Tech teacher Suzanne Low Pratt said.
Guests were treated to a feast for the eyes as well as the palate, when they dined on a dessert of fruit sushi with sweet coconut rice, kiwi, blood orange and strawberries with orange vanilla sauce.
“The food is delicious — scrumptious!” said Peekskill Middle School principal Dr. David Fine, who was impressed with the professionalism of not only students from his own district but with all of the student workers. “I am so proud of the students. This is a great program!”
