Three dynamic days of faith, fellowship and fun are on the agenda as the Sister to Sister Ministry of Mount Olivet Baptist Church ( MOBC) hosts its’ annual Women’s Convocation Weekend from May 18-20th. The convocation theme, Guarding God’s Promises, will help attendees grow in the awareness and appreciation of God’s goodness in all aspects of their lives. The weekend will unfold as follows:
Friday, May 18th : Women Only Worship (WOW) Service (7 pm - 9:30 pm )
A light reception is followed by an uplifting evening of praise and worship. Service starts at 8 pm sharp, with guest celebrant Rev. Dr. Johnnie G. McCann, Senior Pastor of St. Luke Baptist Church in Harlem, N.Y., presiding.
Saturday May 19th: Unity in Mind, Body & Spirit (10 am-2 pm) at The Summit, 1424 Park Street (directly across from MOBC).
The celebration continues with FREE workshops—including an Introduction to Tai Chi; Eating Smart – Cooking with Whole Grains; Adopting A Holistic Approach to Health; and Gardening in Small Spaces. Also available will be demonstrations to experience, such as Acupuncture by Grassroots Natural Medicine and a Guided Group Meditation session by Human Touch Healing Arts. Additionally, for a small fee attendees can treat themselves to a rejuvenating 15- minute chair massage. All are welcome to participate on Saturday, however advance sign up is needed to reserve a seat for the workshops.
Sunday May 20th: Worship for All (7:45 am & 10:45 am) The Women’s Convocation Weekend culminates at Mount Olivet Baptist Church with vibrant worship services conducted by guest celebrant Rev. Dr. Angelique Walker-Smith, Executive Director, Church Federation of Greater Indianapolis.
Worship services will take place at 11 Rev. G. Franklin Wiggins Plaza, Peekskill, N.Y. The Women’s Convocation weekend offers something for everyone--participate in great worship, fun learning experiences, relaxation and fellowship.
