ALBANY, NY (March 29, 2011) –Senator Greg Ball (R, C, 40th District –Westchester/Putnam/Dutchess) has secured $11.4 Million for New York State Veterans. In the 2010/2011 budget the Legislature restored $10.9 Million to Veterans’ Homes located in New York City, Oxford, Montrose, Stony Brook and Batavia, all of which had been previously cut.
Senator Ball also secured $500,000 for the establishment of a State Veterans’ Cemetery pursuant to a project approved by the United States Department of Veterans’ Affairs.
Senator Ball stated, “Although we understood there had to be serious decisions and sacrifices made this year I fought hard to ensure the budget was not balanced on our veterans, those who have selflessly risked and sacrificed their lives for this country.”
