Join us at a dedication ceremony for the VINTAGE PEEKSKILL MURAL on Saturday, Oct. 13, at 11 a.m. at Jan Peek Square, at the corner of North Division Street & Central Avenue.
This project was created by mural artists and Peekskill residents, Larry D’Amico and Sone Tower in collaboration with over 35 local area residents. An antique postcard circa 1920, depicting scenes from Peekskill, was the inspiration for the large mural. This exciting project grew out of an ongoing goal to bring more art to public spaces in Peekskill, NY. There is a broad community interest in the City’s long history. The project was sponsored by The Field Library which has a deep commitment to archiving and displaying local historic documents, maps and memorabilia.
This 12’x16’ exterior wall mural was installed in May at the center of Peekskill’s Downtown Historic District in Jan Peek Square, at the corner of North Division Street & Central Avenue.
